Biography

The StyroDigita is running by Chris and Kannika Styron. Let's hear about their stories.

Chris Styron

Chris I was born in the Deep South where I spent my formative years, and it was there I learned to love nature, family, and a simpler life. I've been taking photos for many years and was photo editor for my college paper a few years back (ok, more than a few). I pulled many all-nighters in the darkroom, inhaling developer and stop–bath fumes, watching timers and thermometers. It was a tedious, but invaluable process that taught me many technical aspects. At the "fun" end of the process I learned about composition, timing, lighting, f–stop, shutter speed, ISO, and many other nuances of the art.

I've photographed weddings, portraits, real estate, animals and the Great Outdoors around the world.

These days, the chemicals and darkness have been replaced by computers and printers but the photographers' eye remains a vital component. I've been working for the past many years as a media technician and have been immersed in the world of audio visual technology for much of my life. It's a great combination – an education in graphic design, a career in media technology and a love for photography.

Kannika Styron

Kannika While my educational and professional background is in Health Care Administration and Information Technology, I've always loved the outdoors, photography, and digital art. Maybe I inherited some from my father in Thailand, who also loved photography.

Since coming to the US several years ago, I've travelled with my husband to see much of the great natural beauty and I've wanted to share my love of it through the lens. Nothing brings me more happiness than being able to explore nature and share the memories through photography; from the beauty of a single flower to the power of a towering mountain.

In the past several years, I've learned so much on my own, from classes, and from my husband who has a lot of experience in photography and graphic design. I've also been learning about other aspects of illustration and web design. (I even designed and developed this website!) First I shared my photos and artwork with family and friends; and now we are moving forward to share with anyone else who may appreciate them.

I hope to be posting many new photos from our future travels and also show you our graphic designs and projects. Hope you enjoy seeing my photos and artwork as much as I enjoyed producing them.
